History:Jocelyn Patricia Hughes grew up in Palmer Township of Easton Pennsylvania, a city about an hour and a half north of Philly. Her mother, Alana Whelan was born and raised in Washington, New Jersey and has always been a stay at home house wife. Her father, Sheridon Hughes, grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He met Alana at a bar in Phillipsburg, New Jersey when they were both eighteen. They dated for three years before Sheridon popped the question. The couple was married on September 1st, 1980. Jocelyn was born Three years later on March 5, 1983. Two years later her brother, Aidan was born.

Growing up, Jocelyn and her brother didn't get along very much. They would bicker and fight almost constantly until Jocelyn moved out of the house to stay in the Dorms at Lehigh University in the fall of 2001. Once they weren't under the same roof, the two became inseparable, and still consider each other their best friend. Aidan is now majoring in European History at Shippensburg University. On occasion, he'll drop by and spend a few days with Jocelyn.

Jocelyn always had a love for English. From a little girl on she could be find in her backyard, the park, or curled up on a couch or her bed reading a book. She devoured almost everything she could get her hands on, and you can tell her favorites by looking at her bookcase. There are a handful of books where bindings are broken, cover sleeves are missing, or torn, and if you flip through the pages, they're stained by various foods, drinks, and tears. She knows she should probably replace them, but feels that throwing those tired and torn books away would be like telling her best friend she couldn't ever talk to them again just because a new, better looking friend came around.

When she was eleven years old, it dawned on Jocelyn that she had absolutely nothing in common with her father, and in an attempt to spend more time with him, sat down next to him on the couch one summer afternoon and had him explain the rules of baseball to her. Sheridon grew up as a Philly sports fan, and was extremely devote to his teams. Over the years, he and Jocelyn got close over baseball, football, and hockey, both spending countless hours celebrating and moping about the current season's team's win or loss.

After graduating, Jocelyn got accepted to Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where she majored in Journalism. Graduating in 2004, Jocelyn accepted a job as a Sports Columnist with the Philadelphia Inquirer, where she writes a weekly Sports Opinion column.
